We use a traditional wooden Newfoundland motorboat with an antique inboard marine engine. We are very proud to be the only licensed and insured tour company in the province (possibly Canada) to use this type of boat and engine!

No. All our tours and experiences are private. There will only be fellow passengers from your own tour group onboard at a given time. 

Absolutely! Although some passengers like to book with us well in advance, we will take last minute bookings pending availability. Don’t hesitate to call us! Many people enjoy taking our tour while waiting for their table at the brewery!

Boat tours are available at any time throughout the day.  We will note a few important things for your reference: 

1. The sea state is usually calmer before noon as the wind tends to get a little stronger in the afternoons. On a day with reasonably good weather, anytime is good for a tour.

2.For fishing tours, early mornings are always better for catching cod. It is more difficult to catch cod in the middle of the day.

3. Our last tour of the evening (leaving around 7:30PM) often offers beautiful sunsets.

Yes, we provide lifejackets for all experiences. Our vessel is equipped with all safety equipment required by Transport Canada. 

Everything you need for your tour will be provided. Just bring your cameras, sea legs and your spirit for adventure! We provide binoculars. We do recommend bringing a sweater, as it is often colder on the water than it is on land. 

The boat leaves from Pretty‘s Wharf (with the exception of the Picnic Tours, which leaves from the Dildo Boathouse Inn). Pretty’s Wharf is located near the breakwater of the Dildo Marina. Look for the yellow heritage house and our sign which is right across the street from it!

Although a little sea spray is always possible, our tours will not proceed if conditions are such that our passengers would get significantly wet. 

All tours start precisely at the scheduled time, however there is no need to arrive any earlier as we may be on another tour or preparing our vessel for your upcoming tour. 

We suggest parking on the side of the street next to the white picket fence (120 Front Road) just across from our wharf. Parking is at your own risk! Dildo Cove Heritage Experience & Motorboat Excursions is not responsible for any damage incurred due to parking a vehicle. 

Unfortunately, we do not have washroom facilities on our vessel or on our premises.

To ensure the best experience possible, we are a fair-weather tour company. Tours may be cancelled if wind and weather conditions are not suitable. We will strive to contact you as early as possible regarding any changes to your itinerary. There is no charge for tours cancelled due to these circumstances.

Absolutely! Our vessel has high sides and it is very safe and stable for young children. 

We accept cash, e-transfer, debit and major credit cards. 

Absolutely! He loves meeting new friends and we can bring him on our premises following the tour. For safety reasons, we cannot bring the dog onboard the boat during tours.
